    Breast Lift: Restoring Youthful Contours

Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, is one of the most popular surgeries for women seeking to rejuvenate their breast appearance. This operation effectively addresses sagging breasts, repositioning the nipple-areola complex and reshaping breast tissue for a more youthful, uplifted look.

A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and reshapes breast tissue to raise and firm the breasts. Performed under general anesthesia, the surgery typically takes 2-3 hours, depending on the extent of lifting required and the specific technique used.

How long do breast lift results last?

Results can be long-lasting with a stable weight and healthy lifestyle. However, aging and gravity will continue to affect the breasts over time.

How soon after pregnancy can I have a breast lift?

It’s generally advisable to wait at least 6 months after completing breastfeeding, allowing your breasts to stabilize.

How visible will the scars be after a breast lift?

Scarring is an inevitable part of breast lift surgery. Patients often ask me if they are good candidates for only vertical scar or donut breast lift, and my answer is ‘no’ for %95 cases. The incision pattern chosen depends on your specific needs and the degree of lift required. While scars are initially noticeable, they typically fade significantly over time.

Most patients find that the improved breast shape and position outweigh concerns about scarring.

What is the recovery time after a breast lift?

Most patients can return to light activities within 1-2 weeks. Full recovery usually takes 4-6 weeks, with final results visible after several months.

Which scar pattern should be used for breast lift surgery? Can i have a short scar or only peri-areolar scar?

The choice of incision pattern for breast lift surgery depends on the degree of ptosis and

the patient’s individual anatomy. Generally for a stronger result we use an inverted-T pattern.

Will I lose sensation in my nipples after a breast lift?

While some temporary changes in sensation are common, permanent loss of nipple sensation is rare.

Will a breast lift affect my ability to breastfeed?

While every effort is made to preserve milk ducts, breast lift surgery may affect breastfeeding ability. Discuss this with us if you plan future pregnancies.
